Irrigation Installer

Job Summary

  • Install, maintain, and service irrigation systems.

General Accountabilities

  • Installs irrigation systems according to specifications, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Lays and connects water lines.
  • Installs irrigation fixtures, pumps, timers, and valves.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on irrigation systems, including winterizing the system.
  • Tests installed systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Uses established methods to develop watering schedules and avoid waste.
  • Ensures installed irrigation systems conform to city codes.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs or replaces damaged or malfunctioning parts.

Landscape Crew Member

Job Summary

  • Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
  • Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers. Shovel snow from walks, driveways, or parking lots and spread salt in those areas.
  • Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
  • Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
  • Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
  • Gather and remove litter.

Job Summary

  • Directs the activities of workers who perform landscaping duties, such as landscape tear outs, irrigation duties, retaining walls, patios, plant installs, water features, and other various tasks as needed per project.

General Accountabilities

  • Inspects completed work to ensure conformance to specifications, standards, and contract requirements. 
  • Schedules work for crew depending on work priorities, equipment availability, project demands, and weather conditions. 
  • Enforces operating procedures and work standards to promote employee safety and meet performance requirements. 
  • Trains workers in tasks related to landscaping and in proper use of landscaping equipment. 
  • Prioritizes the work of other landscape technicians. 
  • Provides workers with assistance in performing duties as necessary to meet deadlines. 
  • Operates powered equipment, such as skid loaders, trucks, excavators, powered hand tools, and gas saws. 
  • Maintains the ground equipment which may include repairs and preventive maintenance as needed. 
  • Inventories supplies of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure that sufficient supplies are available and items are in safe and usable condition.

Pesticide Tech

Job Summary

  • Mix or apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides through sprays, dusts, vapors, soil incorporation, or chemical application on trees, shrubs, lawns, or botanical crops. Requires specific training and State or Federal certification.

General Accountabilities

  • Fill sprayer tanks with water and chemicals, according to formulas. 
  • Mix pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides for application to trees, shrubs, lawns, or botanical crops. 
  • Cover areas to specified depths with pesticides, applying knowledge of weather conditions, droplet sizes, elevation-to-distance ratios, and obstructions. 
  • Lift, push, and swing nozzles, hoses, and tubes to direct spray over designated areas. 
  • Start motors and engage machinery, such as sprayer agitators or pumps or portable spray equipment. 
  • Connect hoses and nozzles selected according to terrain, distribution pattern requirements, types of infestations, and velocities. 
  • Clean or service machinery to ensure operating efficiency, using water, gasoline, lubricants, or hand tools.

Truck Driver

Job Summary

  • Operates a tractor-trailer or truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds. Primary responsibility will be hauling dirt, stone and asphalt to various contractors around the metro. Hours vary but most shifts are 6:00am to 6:00pm. We prefer to work Monday through Saturdays as often as possible. Winter work hours can vary.

 

General Accountabilities

  • Checks vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
  • Collects delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
  • Maintains logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
  • Secures cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
  • Drives trucks with capacities greater than three tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products, livestock, or other materials.
  • Obtains receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collects payment for services when required.
  • Operates equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
  • Performs basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, radiator fluid, washing vehicle, checking tire air pressures, greasing vehicle or performing minor repairs.
  • Checks conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.
  • Reads bills of lading to determine assignment details.
  • Couples or uncouples trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting, or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks.
  • Checks all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  • Reads and interprets maps to determine vehicle routes.
  • Cranks trailer landing gear up or down to safely secure vehicles.
  • Loads and unloads trucks, or helps others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary.
  • Removes debris from loaded trailers.
